Product Photography Tips

1: Use proper lighting

  • Product photography starts with lighting the photo. Without adequate lighting, neither your product nor your background determines what it looks like for you. "The background with white light appears white in the photo, looks gray".

  • Options for product photography lighting are Studio Lighting and Natural Lighting. The product you are drawing, the photo purpose, and the platform you are advertising it on, you have to decide whether natural light is really good for product images featuring foods, people, and clothing. Can work well and these natural-looking photos can work well in social media contexts such as Instagram.

2: Use a tripod

  • Tripods may sound like silly and unnecessary technical devices, but they make a huge difference in the clarity and quality of product photos. And they are not necessarily expensive or difficult to use.

  • Tripods are essentially supports that stabilize your camera with an unsteady hand. Using a tripod will ensure that blur is reduced, which is important if you want your product photos to look professional and high quality.

3. Use simple props

  • Don't be too ambitious when it comes to product photography support! Remember, the main focus of each product photograph should be the product. With that said, the Sahara can welcome you and help illuminate the image for your audience.

  • So, how do you decide what to support? I always recommend making a mistake on the lighting side when it comes to accessories: keep them simple, align them with the color scheme and be relevant to the scene or your product.

4. Take multiple photos from multiple angles

  • If you have a fairly large line of products that you need to shoot, it may be tempting to take just one or two of each product, then follow along. However, this will not help shooting for editing. Taking multiple shots from a wide variety of angles will give your customers what your product looks like. In addition, it will help give you options when it is time to edit, and you may not have given up thinking.

  • Sometimes have an idea of what angle would work well and would be surprised to learn that what I hoped to choose would be the other way around. The beauty of product photography is that you have the ability to take multiple photos and then strategically choose the best one.

5.  Product retouching

  • The purpose of product retouching is to make your product more attractive or dynamic, focusing on or highlighting its important aspects. For this, it may be necessary to use masking and clipping, lights and tones, background effects and color enhancements.

  • We all know the importance of product images for an e-commerce portal. Whether you take pictures of products at home, in the office or in a studio, one thing is clear: To maximize your return on investment, you need a professional imaging service. That’s what Uretouch helps you with.
